PickCode Add to Chrome

Privacy policy

Last updated 29 October 2026

PickCode is built to work without collecting your data. This page explains the little that is stored and why.

In the extension

When you pick an element, PickCode reads that element's HTML and styles inside your browser to generate code. This happens entirely on your device. The pages you visit and the elements you pick are never sent to us or anyone else.

The extension stores a few things in your browser's local extension storage: your preferred output format, a random installation ID, today's free-plan counts, and your license key, activation ID and signed license if you have Pro. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.

Free plan checks

When you use a free element or CodePen, the extension sends a random installation ID and the kind of use (copy or CodePen) to our license service, which counts the day's free uses. The service stores that ID and a one-way hash of your network address with the day's count, and deletes them after two days. It never receives the pages you visit, the elements you pick or the code.

License checks

When you activate Pro, and every few days after that, the extension sends your license key and activation ID to our license service to confirm the license is valid. Nothing else is sent.

What our license service stores

For each purchase we store the license key, the Paddle transaction ID, the Paddle customer ID, the IDs of browsers where the key is active, and when the license was created. We use this only to deliver and verify your license. The service runs on Cloudflare, which may keep short-lived request logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Payments

Paddle is our merchant of record. Paddle collects your name, email, billing details and payment information to process your order, under Paddle's privacy policy. We never see your card details.

Cookies and analytics

This website doesn't use analytics or tracking cookies. The checkout on /buy loads Paddle's checkout, which may set cookies needed to process payment.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you or delete the license data linked to your purchase. Deleting it deactivates your license. Email support@pickcode.dev.
