What CSS Peeper offers
- The largest user base of any tool in the category, with 500,000 Chrome Web Store users.
What PickCode does differently
- Four ready-to-paste formats. Tailwind classes, a React (JSX) component, a Laravel Blade component that merges
$attributes, or HTML with a stylesheet. - Built from what the browser applied. PickCode starts from computed styles, so inline styles, CSS-in-JS and utility classes all come through. It then adds the page's own
:hover,:focusandmin-widthrules ashover:,md:andlg:classes. - Tailwind names, not hex soup. Colors, spacing, radii and font sizes snap to Tailwind's scale. Anything off-scale becomes an exact arbitrary value.
- Private. Elements are converted inside your browser. The pages you visit are never sent anywhere.
- One payment. Pro costs $49 once, works on up to 3 browsers and includes future updates, with a 14-day refund.
Limits worth knowing: PickCode can't read cross-origin stylesheets yet, so hover and breakpoint rules from a CDN stylesheet are skipped, and units are written as pixels rather than rem or %.
Proof: the pasted code renders at the original size
Copied code is only useful if it looks like what you picked, so we measure it. The test page is a responsive card grid with a :hover rule and md: and lg: breakpoints. PickCode copies it once. We then render the original and the pasted Tailwind at three screen widths in Chrome and compare the boxes. The HTML + CSS output measured the same as Tailwind.
- Original element
- Pasted PickCode output, drawn to scale
Measured 16 October 2026. The biggest gap was 1px of height at 390px, and the hover color matched exactly. We haven't found a published size test from any other tool in this category.
